The Dirtbombs, garage band that mixes the best sounds of Detroit, The Stooges/MC5 with Motown. You will either love them or hate them.
currently i am listening to golden smog. they are a supergroup of sorts from minneapolis consiting of dudes from soul asylum and the jayhawks and the dude from wilco. they play alt country/blues/rock type of stuff. got a kind of a 70s vibe to em. as of late i have been enjoying a bunch of merle haggard as well. i saw him play last week in el paso, and he was great for an old guy.
Drive by Truckers for me too. Haven't turned them off since I saw them a couple months ago. Stones too since seeing "Shine a Light" on imax. Lastly, the Felice Brothers. Highly recommend them if you haven't already checked them out. Kind of an Bob Dylan/The Band type thing they have going on. Real gritty.
